I don't really care to be honest. All pro athletics are ridiculous in my opinion. |

This opens the door to so many things to come. Video games at the Olympics, thank you! |

If videogames are in the Olympics, Starcraft will bleed gold for South Korea. |

I like the idea, I hate the argument about certain things not qualifying as a sport. Just because it's not physical, doesn't mean you can't be an athlete IMO. A Nascar Driver, A football player, and an MLG player all share a common trait: They are proficiently skilled in a sport. |

However, some of these sports aren't a fan of the mandatory random drug testings done in the Olympics. That is primarily why Chess has been on the "Maybe" list for so long. How many pro gamers would submit to random tests? |

Awesome, just awesome. It's not so bad, I mean it's not like people are being paid 7 figures to throw a ball around, oh wait.... In all honesty it's not so bad. I mean Poker was recognised as a sport. Atleast with League of Legends you don't have to rely on pure luck, and poker faces. |

if you think poker is pure luck, you are sadly mistaken pal. if it was pure luck there wouldn't be people who can live playing poker, not even needing a part time job to pay the bills. |

I've never seen any more strategy other than poker faces and bluffs when it comes to strategy in poker. Meh, i guess there is some skill in poker i spose'. |

Oh there is. Strategy is largely knowing how to play your opponent's cards but at the end of the round when the cards are shown, you still need to know to play your own cards. |

I think poker is very skillful, I absolutely love the game but it can be easier if you learn probability and the possible types of hands people can have to learn whether you have better chances at the round and whether to bluff big time or not. |

Indeed, but back to the topic at hand..... Supposing against all odds major league gaming enters the Olympics......which genres would be chosen? And what games for those genres? |

That's a tough choice being that video games come and go and most sports remain. Hockey is always hockey but no one wants to play call of duty 4 in the olympics for 50 years. IDK how that would be done, would they change titles every four years? |

They'd probably pick the most competitive games, like Counter Strike or something similar for the FPS category. |
